Jikeleza Lodge - COVID-19 Protocols

Our responsibilities and actions:

  • Bathrooms, Kitchens, and communal areas will be sanitised at least three times a day. High touch areas may be sanitised more often.
  • Sanitiser will be supplied for hands, on entering the Backpackers. All persons entering must sanitise their hands.
  • Disinfectant water and cloths will be supplied in Kitchens and Bathrooms to wipe down surfaces. All items brought into the building will be sanitised.
  • All staff will wear face masks when dealing with any person and in public areas.
  • All staff are instructed to wash their hands regularly for a minimum of 20 seconds and to sanitise their hands regularly after contact with another person or after contact with frequently touched surfaces.
  • All staff have been instructed to cough into the fold of their elbow or in a tissue which must be discarded in a waste bin, and then wash their hands immediately afterwards as set out above.
  • Staff have been instructed to ensure that social distancing of at least 1.5 metres away from another person is practised.
  • Preparation of meals and meal times will be staggered to ensure safety.
  • All staff have been trained on hygiene and Covid-19 spread protection as well as the latest OHS protocols.
